Ingredients

Preparation

Simmered in the Hybrid Stock Pot until fragrant and spiced, this warming mulled cider is the perfect way to welcome guests to your holiday gathering (and perfume your kitchen!) You can keep it alcohol-free so guests of all ages and preferences can enjoy it, and stash a bottle of brandy by the stove for anyone who wants to spike their mug for some extra holiday cheer.

*This recipe originally ran in the US on HexClad.com.

  1. Place orange slices in a HexClad 8QT/7.5 L Hybrid Stock Pot. Squeeze juice from both orange ends into pot and discard ends. Add cider, ginger, cinnamon, and star anise and simmer over medium heat until hot but not boiling, about 8 minutes. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours for flavors to infuse; be careful not to let the cider boil, as this will cause the fresh cider to separate.
  2. If desired, add brandy to mulled cider and simmer until warmed through, about 5 minutes. Alternatively, add 1 oz of brandy to a serving to spike it.
